Usually I find the fire service to be rewarding and while we often are involved in tragedies we reduce their impact on others or at least provide some comfort and aid. Good for a little uplifting of spirits especially with so many of my friends getting hammered by misfortune at the moment. Especially good for my fire/EMS friends.

While not your usual method of fighting fires this worked. A good neighbor thinking outside the box.

Well today I just about choked on lunch. It had nothing to do with the food or eating too fast. Rather it had to do with my flipping onto Discovery Channel to see what they had on while I ate. It just struck me as interesting how two disaster events are sharing the same day. The present day one is the Explosion and fire in Dallas at a gas distribution facility. The other occurred 45 years ago and was a propane truck explosion that nearly wiped out the town just 10 miles north of where I lived. That one I can still remember walking ( Read more... )

Ah the forth of July. Great day of celebrations and parades which means I get a chance to fursuit with my fire department. So early this morning I got out my tiger fursuit, E. M.
